Day Trip To Rabat

After being picked up at your accommodation, we will drive along the coast to Rabat.  Our local informative guide will ensure you have a wonderful day exploring this European-flavored, administrative capital of Morocco, where the ancient and modern collide along the tree-fringed boulevards.  Among the many sights to be seen will be the Kasbah des Oudayas,  an UNESCO  World heritage site, with its beautiful Andalusian gardens located at the mouth of the river Abu Regrag.  The Kasbah was originally built in the 12th century by the al Mohades dynasty.  A highlight of the day will be your visit to the Hassan Tower, another UNESCO site in Rabat, which is part of an incomplete mosque also built by the same dynasty in the 12th century.  At the same location is the mausoleum of Mohamed V and Hassan II with its own amazing architecture.  While at this site you will also walk to have a view of the stunning performing arts center. Then if time permits you will visit the beautiful ruins of Chella.  Lunch will be at one of the recommended restaurants with a view of the Atlantic Ocean.  Following lunch, we will return to your accommodation in Casablanca.

More about Casablanca

Casablanca, the port city on the Atlantic Ocean is the economic capital of Morocco. This s the largest and busiest city in the country and the commercial hub of western Morocco.  The Port of Casablanca is one of the largest artificial ports in the world.  The Hassan II Mosque, which stands partly over the ocean was completed in 1993.  It is one of the largest and most ornate mosques in the world.  It has a 210-meter minaret topped with lasers directed toward Mecca.  The city's handsome Moorish buildings, which meld French-colonial design and traditional Moroccan style, are best admired in the downtown area. Visitors who spend time in the Quartier Habous or Nouvelle Medina (the New Medina) built by the French in the 1930’s or in the beachside suburb of Ain Diab, are sure to get into the local swing of things.  This old pirate lair, now a modern city, is looking towards the future.  But it also embraces the European-flavored urban sophistication that has underpinned life here for the past century. This city is certainly worth a visit. With Morocco Meta Adventures you will see the best of the country.  Don’t hesitate to contact us.

More about Rabat

Rabat is Morocco’s political and administrative capital.  It is a cultural city deep-rooted in history but also with plenty of charm.  Rabat is an eco-responsible capital with clean, well-kept palm-lined boulevards and many beautiful parks.  The city lies along the shores of the Bouregreg River and the Atlantic Ocean.  It's known for UNESCO World Heritage Sites that speak to its Islamic and French-colonial heritage, including the Kasbah of the Udayas.  This Berber-era royal fort is surrounded by formal French-designed gardens and overlooks the ocean. The city's iconic Hassan Tower, a 12th-century unfinished minaret, soars above the ruins of a mosque and the beautiful mausoleum of Mohammed V.  Rabat is a city of contrasts with much to offer visitors.  Add Rabat to your checklist of places to see with Morocco Meta Adventures to experience the best of the country.
