Things To Know Before You Go:

Is the drinking water safe in Morocco?
Usually, the water is safe in Morocco, but we recommend using the bottled mineral water for drinking, brushing your teeth, or washing fruit.  This avoids any issues that might affect your holiday in Morocco. The tap water is fine for all other uses.

What will the weather be like?
Morocco is a land of contrasts, and the climate follows suit. Moroccan weather is typically sunny and warm but can be cooler in the mountains. As mornings and nights are also cooler, we suggest bringing layers of clothing. Be prepared!

Spring and autumn are the most popular seasons for travel. Check the weather at www.weather.com.

What kind of clothing is appropriate for Women and Men?

Women visitors are not expected to cover their hair, arms, or legs. However, we suggest avoiding spaghetti straps, tight or revealing clothing and short skirts or shorts. Men may feel more comfortable in long pants as shorts are generally worn by young Moroccan men.

Is Morocco a safe country?

Morocco is a safe place to visit.  As tourism is one of the main industries in the country the Moroccan government has done much to make the country safe for tourists from all over the world.  Occasionally, you may encounter pickpockets but you’re unlikely to be assaulted or seriously hurt.  Remember, always be a safe and savvy traveller and you will encounter many wonderful people in Morocco.

More about Casablanca

Casablanca, the port city on the Atlantic Ocean is the economic capital of Morocco. This s the largest and busiest city in the country and the commercial hub of western Morocco.  The Port of Casablanca is one of the largest artificial ports in the world.  The Hassan II Mosque, which stands partly over the ocean was completed in 1993.  It is one of the largest and most ornate mosques in the world.  It has a 210-meter minaret topped with lasers directed toward Mecca.  The city's handsome Moorish buildings, which meld French-colonial design and traditional Moroccan style, are best admired in the downtown area. Visitors who spend time in the Quartier Habous or Nouvelle Medina (the New Medina) built by the French in the 1930’s or in the beachside suburb of Ain Diab, are sure to get into the local swing of things.  This old pirate lair, now a modern city, is looking towards the future.  But it also embraces the European-flavored urban sophistication that has underpinned life here for the past century. This city is certainly worth a visit. With Morocco Meta Adventures you will see the best of the country.  Don’t hesitate to contact us.

More about El Jadida

El Jadida is a major port city on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, located 96 kilometres south of the city of Casablanca.  it was formerly named Mazagan (Mazagão in Portuguese).  It was given up by the Portuguese in 1769 and incorporated into Morocco.   In 2004 it was designated an UNESCO World Heritage site. UNESCO consider the cistern and the Church of the Assumption the most important buildings from the Portuguese period. The Church of Our Lady of Assumption is built in a Gothic style known as Manueline. El Jadida's old city sea walls form the Fortress of Mazagan.  The original star form now has only four bastions: the Angel Bastion in the east, St Sebastian in the north, St Antoine in the west, and the Holy Ghost Bastion in the south. The fifth, the Governor's Bastion destroyed by the Portuguese in 1769, is in ruins.  Numerous colonial-era Portuguese cannons are still positioned on top of the bastions. The cistern is a semi-subterranean chamber constructed with five rows of five stone pillars and columns. The chamber is also built in Manueline style.  Its original function is not clear.  It may have been an armory, barracks or granary.  However, it is recorded as having been converted into a cistern in 1541. The Citadel, located at the heart of the walled city, was the first permanent Portuguese construction on this site in 1514. Join Morocco Meta Adventures to explore this fascinating UNESCO designated site.

More about Rabat

Rabat is Morocco’s political and administrative capital.  It is a cultural city deep-rooted in history but also with plenty of charm.  Rabat is an eco-responsible capital with clean, well-kept palm-lined boulevards and many beautiful parks.  The city lies along the shores of the Bouregreg River and the Atlantic Ocean.  It's known for UNESCO World Heritage Sites that speak to its Islamic and French-colonial heritage, including the Kasbah of the Udayas.  This Berber-era royal fort is surrounded by formal French-designed gardens and overlooks the ocean. The city's iconic Hassan Tower, a 12th-century unfinished minaret, soars above the ruins of a mosque and the beautiful mausoleum of Mohammed V.  Rabat is a city of contrasts with much to offer visitors.  Add Rabat to your checklist of places to see with Morocco Meta Adventures to experience the best of the country.
