Meet your driver and depart for Rabat in a comfortable, private, air-conditioned vehicle. Enjoy the journey north along the Atlantic coast as you leave Morocco's largest city behind and travel toward its historic capital.
Upon arrival, begin discovering a city known for its elegant boulevards, historic monuments, coastal scenery, and distinctive blend of Moroccan and Andalusian influences.
2. Explore the Kasbah of the Udayas
Your first major stop is the Kasbah of the Udayas, one of Rabat's most charming and historically significant landmarks.
Situated near the mouth of the Bouregreg River, this historic fortified quarter overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and offers beautiful views of the surrounding coastline.
Wander through its narrow streets, admire the traditional whitewashed houses with blue details, and discover the architectural character that makes the kasbah so distinctive.
Depending on opening hours and access, you may also explore the Andalusian Gardens, a peaceful green space featuring traditional landscaping and a relaxing atmosphere.
As you walk through this historic neighborhood, learn about Rabat's past and the different cultural influences that have shaped the city over the centuries.
3. Visit Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V
Continue to one of Rabat's most important historical complexes, home to the impressive Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V.
Hassan Tower is the unfinished minaret of a monumental mosque project begun in the 12th century under the Almohad dynasty. Today, the tower and the surrounding columns offer a fascinating glimpse into the scale and ambition of the original project.
Nearby, visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the resting place of King Mohammed V and his sons, including King Hassan II.
Admire the mausoleum's elegant architecture, beautifully carved details, decorative tilework, and traditional Moroccan craftsmanship.
Together, these landmarks represent important chapters in Morocco's religious, architectural, and royal history.
4. Discover Rabat's Historic Center
Continue your exploration through Rabat's historic center, where traditional neighborhoods coexist with modern urban life.
Depending on your interests and the available time, enjoy a walk through parts of the old medina, discover local shops, and observe everyday life in the city's traditional commercial streets.
Browse Moroccan handicrafts, explore small boutiques, and appreciate the contrast between Rabat's historic quarters and its elegant modern avenues.
Your local guide can introduce you to the city's history, customs, and cultural identity while helping you make the most of your visit.
5. Optional Visit to Chellah
If time permits, continue to Chellah, one of Rabat's most fascinating historical sites.
This archaeological complex contains the remains of an ancient settlement and a later medieval Islamic necropolis. Its historic ruins, gardens, and atmospheric pathways offer a quieter perspective on the city's rich past.
Explore the site and discover the different civilizations that have left their mark on this part of Morocco.
Please note: A visit to Chellah depends on the day's schedule, opening hours, access, and any applicable entrance fees. If you would particularly like to include it, please mention this when booking so we can plan your itinerary accordingly.
6. Enjoy a Traditional Moroccan Lunch
Take a break at a local restaurant and enjoy the flavors of Moroccan cuisine.
Depending on your preferences, you may choose traditional tagines, couscous when available, grilled dishes, fresh salads, or other regional specialties.
If you prefer, we can recommend a restaurant offering views of the Atlantic coastline or a location close to the historic center.
Lunch is an excellent opportunity to relax and experience Morocco's culinary traditions before continuing your exploration.
Please note: Lunch and drinks are not included in the tour price unless expressly stated in your confirmed quotation.
7. Enjoy Rabat's Coastal Scenery
Before leaving the city, take some time to appreciate Rabat's beautiful coastal setting.
Depending on the itinerary and available time, enjoy a short stop at a suitable viewpoint or along the waterfront for photographs and views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Rabat's combination of historic fortifications, river scenery, and coastal landscapes provides a memorable conclusion to your sightseeing experience.
8. Return to Casablanca
In the afternoon, meet your driver at the agreed location and begin the return journey to Casablanca.
Relax in your private vehicle as you travel back along the Atlantic coast.
Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your accommodation or another previously agreed location, bringing your day trip to a comfortable conclusion.
